Pittsburgh Zoo to host drive-thru event benefiting families in need

PITTSBURGH — If you’re looking for something to do to get your kids out of the house, this may be the answer!

The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Paints Aquarium is holding a drive-thru event in its parking lot on Saturday, May 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

You’ll stay in your vehicle and be able to drive through the Zoo’s parking lot to see ambassador animals, fairytale princesses from Fairytale Princess Visits and even the Zoo’s mascot, all of which will be done at a safe distance.

People will stay in their cars the entire time.

The cost is $20 per vehicle, cash only, and families are asked to bring a new and unused toy that will be donated to Beverly’s Birthdays -- an organization that throws birthday celebrations for children in need.

Anyone who donates a toy will be entered to win a free Wild Encounter from the Zoo.
