Wanted man runs from Pittsburgh police after crash

Pittsburgh police are searching for a man in East Liberty after he took off running from a car crash.

The man was wanted as part of an investigation by Allegheny County Police, and officers from Pittsburgh police were notified that he may be in the area of East Liberty.

They spotted his vehicle and followed it until the driver crashed at the intersection of Hays Street and North Euclid Avenue.

The driver then took off running and has not been located yet.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, two police vehicles were also damaged when the suspect ran off, but no officers were injured.

The man has been identified as Herbert Walker. He’s wanted on drug charges and for questioning in a homicide.

Pittsburgh Obama 6-12 and Dilworth PreK-5 were both placed on lockdown at the time.
