Cash 5 ticket worth $450K sold in Allegheny County

PITTSBURGH — A jackpot-winning ticket from Tuesday’s Cash 5 was sold in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania Lottery officials announced Wednesday.

The winning ticket was sold at the Sunoco on Hulton Road in Oakmont.

The ticket correctly matched all five balls, 05-21-25-26-30, to win a prize of $450,000, less 25 percent federal withholding.

The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling this winning ticket.

Prizes must be claimed and tickets validated before winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The holder of any jackpot-winning ticket should immediately sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

More than 48,000 other Cash 5 tickets won prizes of various amounts in the August 18 drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time.

It's been a good couple of months for lottery players in Pennsylvania. In July, a Mega Millions ticket worth $153 million was sold just outside State College.

The winner was Steven Peloquin, a professional truck driver for nearly 30 years.

Peloquin, who claimed a cash value of $91.8 million, said he plans to retire early.
