James Coons, of Lawrence Township, went on a walk weeks ago and never returned home.
Search crews checked the Susquehanna River for the first time yesterday, since the area has been problematic over the past few weeks.
“When this first happened, there were several large pieces, chunks of ice. They were as big as small cars. They were lining the river, shoreline of the entire search area,” said Scott Mignot, Deputy Director of Clearfield County 911.
Search crews were planning further efforts Saturday, and will resume looking for Coons on Sunday.
