Cocaine found during arrest of man accused of impersonating officer at Sheetz

NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Dunbar man is accused of impersonating an undercover police officer at a Sheetz gas station in Fayette County.

Brian Machesky, 29, allegedly told employees at the Sheetz on Pittsburgh Road in North Union Township that he was an undercover officer and that he was being watched, according to police. He then asked for a pen and paper to write down information, including his name and phone number.

Police said that before Machesky left, he asked employees to give the paper to the next police officer who walked into the store.

At about 1 a.m., Machesky drove to the Pennsylvania State Police Uniontown barracks and wanted to provide drug-related information to troopers.

Machesky was arrested after troopers observed drug paraphernalia in his vehicle, police said.

A search led to the seizure of used syringes, cocaine, a large amount of prescription pills and other paraphernalia.

Machesky faces charges of impersonation of a public servant, violation of the controlled drug device and cosmetic act and driving while suspended.
