CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Cranberry Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect they believe is responsible for property damage and other criminal mischief over the last few weekends.
The incidents are happening between midnight and 3 a.m. in and around Bristol Creek and Washington Farms on Franklin Road.
Neighbors in Bristol Creek told Channel 11’s Andrew Havranek it’s been happening since the summer.
“It’s literally throughout the night,” one man said.
That neighbor didn’t want to be on camera.
He told Channel 11 he’s been home when these suspects have kicked his door, sometimes at 3 and 5 a.m.
“Just this last time, my 85-year-old mom was here. I don’t think she heard anything, but that was pretty infuriating,” he said.
The doorbell camera caught a picture of a suspect this summer. The person was wearing a ski mask.
Aside from ringing the doorbell, kicking the door and garage doors, and causing damage to homes, that man said they’ve left random things in his yard.
One morning after his doorbell rang, he found a note reading, “Look in your mailbox.”
So, he went outside and walked to his mailbox. When he got there and opened it up, he found two water balloons. But that’s not the only weird thing these people have left behind.
“Hot dogs all over the place, sitting on, you know, plastic forks up in the yard,” he said. “Baggies with, you know, hot sauce packets and games, like video game cartridges, just really weird random stuff.”
Neighbors are worried these people could also get hurt if someone thinks they’re breaking into their home.
They’re glad police are looking into it, but they want it to stop.
“I mean, kids can be very destructive. So, yeah, I appreciate the police looking out for us in the communities,” said Bill Eubanks. “One day you’ll be older, and what comes around goes around. So, keep yourselves home and get some rest so that way you can do what you’re supposed to do as kids.”
If you have any information that can help police, you’re asked to call them or email tips@cranberrytownship.org.
