PITTSBURGH — Duquesne Light Company partnered with the nonprofit Beverly’s PGH Thursday for a volunteer event to provide resources and celebratory items for local families.
The collaboration was held as part of the energy company’s Summer of Service initiative.
The annual campaign challenges employees to contribute more than 1,200 volunteer hours during the summer months. These efforts are focused on supporting communities facing affordability challenges in Allegheny and Beaver counties.
Volunteers, including members of the executive leadership team, completed several specific tasks to support families.
The group assembled treat bags intended for children’s birthday celebrations and created small gifts for mothers attending upcoming baby showers. Participants also packed dental care kits for children.
Beverly’s PGH provides families with essential resources, supportive experiences and meaningful celebrations intended to promote dignity and connection.
The partnership with DLC supports the nonprofit’s Birthdays, Babies and Basics programs.
