In a not entirely unexpected result, the gubernatorial race was swiftly called in Pennsylvania.
Within minutes of polls closing at 8 p.m., both the Associated Press and NBC declared that Josh Shapiro won his bid for reelection, defeating Republican state treasurer Stacy Garrity.
Not even 4% of the votes had been counted when the race was called.
NBC News reports that Garrity trailed by double digits in polls leading up to Election Day and had been outpaced in fundraising.
