Surveillance video shows chaos after fights at Waterfront movie theater

WEST HOMESTEAD, Pa. — Police released surveillance video of two separate incidents at a West Homestead movie theater Sunday night, prompting moviegoers to run for safety.

At least two people were hurt during a showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" at Loews Theater on the Waterfront.

West Homestead police said a fight broke out in the middle of the movie.

According to police, Anthony Labarbera shoved a man to the ground, and then punched a woman in the face after she poured a drink on him. Authorities said the feud started over a bathroom stall.

The man and woman suffered minor injuries and police said Labarbera is facing simple assault charges.

In another incident, police said two women were fighting and someone yelled something that caused everyone in the theater to panic and run for safety.

One witness told Channel 11 News that everyone panicked, which prompted a stampede.

"It was scary. People were screaming. Everyone was running, kind of pushing each other. People were dropping things. Everyone was getting down. It was definitely chaotic. Everyone's heart was racing," said the witness.

The theater's managers gave customers a free movie pass.
