The founder and longtime CEO of a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to assisting immigrants and refugees is stepping down from her role at the organization at the end of 2026.
Sloane Davidson founded Hello Neighbor in 2016, starting with an idea to find ways to strengthen community between immigrants, refugees and Pittsburgh residents. Over the past decade, the organization grew into what it is today, offering an array of services in resettlement, family support, employment, legal services, education, health, youth programming, mentorship and community engagement. According to its website, Hello Neighbor serves over 750 people a month from 35 countries of origin.
“I am extraordinarily proud of what we have built together over the past 10 years and of the thousands of people who have shaped Hello Neighbor,” Davidson said. “This organization is so much bigger than any one person, and I feel deeply confident in the team, the work and the future ahead. I am ready for this next season and, after I finish the year, for a period of real rest and reflection.”
