BOLIVAR, Pa. — People took to the green to support kids and police in Westmoreland County.
Monday marked the 17th annual Shop With a Cop Golf Outing at Champions Lakes in Bolivar.
The annual event raises money so state police can take kids shopping during the holidays and also help them out during prom season.
Pennsylvania State Police Public Information Officer, Trooper Steve Limani, said the event had a decent turnout.
“We’ve been blessed to have 144 people show up here today. We’ll raise about $40,000 from the golf outing and the efforts of all the volunteers. We’re very blessed and very fortunate to have everybody in our corner to make this happen,” Limani said.
The amount raised during the event typically covers nearly half the operating cost for other Shop With a Cop events.
