NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — The Westmoreland County Detective Bureau and New Kensington Police are seeking information in the unsolved 2002 stabbing death of 55-year-old Stanley Black.
The case is being highlighted as part of a monthly initiative by the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office to renew leads and generate new evidence.
Black was walking along the 400 block of Sixth Street in New Kensington on Aug. 16, 2002, when he was stabbed in the chest and abdomen. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died two days later on Aug. 18, 2002.
Before his death, Black told police officers that he had been stabbed by an unknown Black man. Detectives have continued to follow up on information and have developed credible leads, but no arrest has been made in the case.
The monthly spotlight by the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office aims to generate new evidence and substantiate information that could lead to an arrest.
