Man arrested in Florida for Bridgeville Co-Go's robbery wanted to see beach

BRIDGEVILLE, Pa. — A man who brandished a knife during the robbery of a Bridgeville convenience store Thursday has been arrested in Florida.

On Sunday, the Bridgeville Police Department posted on Facebook that Craig Dell, 41, the suspect in the robbery at the Co-Go's, was in police custody in Fort Lauderdale.

Dell had been advised by a family member that his picture was broadcast on local TV and that police were looking for him.

Dell turned himself in to Florida police, stating, "I wanted to see the beach before I went to jail," according to a post on the Bridgeville Police Department's Facebook page.

Surveillance video of the robbery showed a man pacing outside the store before walking in and forcing the clerk behind the counter at knifepoint to empty the cash register.

The clerk handed the robber money before chasing him out of the store.Dell is charged with robbery, making terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a prohibited weapon and harassment.

He is awaiting extradition back to Allegheny County.
