At least 2 hurt in crash involving garbage truck in Turtle Creek

TURTLE CREEK, Pa. — At least two people were hurt in a crash involving a garbage truck Thursday in Turtle Creek.

The crash was reported at 12:30 p.m. near Monroeville Avenue and the Tri-Boro Expressway, an Allegheny County 911 supervisor tells us.

Two people were taken to the hospital from the scene.

Our photographer saw a garbage truck on its side in the roadway. A pickup truck was off the road nearby and appeared to be damaged.

At the intersection with Grant Street, a compact vehicle had damage to its rear.

It’s unclear what caused the crash or if anyone else was hurt.
