Local police searching for pair of suspects with active warrants

BETHEL PARK. Pa. — Local police are asking for the public’s help in finding two people who have active warrants.

The Bethel Park Police Department said Thomas Richard Balzer, 45, and Jessica Lynn Brandau, 35, are both wanted for felony retail theft. Bethel Park police say Balzer is also believed to have struck an officer while fleeing from a scene.

Balzer is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Brandau weighs about 165 pounds and is 5 feet 2 inches tall. She has brown eyes and brown hair that police say is currently dyed red.

Police say they have stolen a large amount of merchandise from retail stores and are known to use an empty stroller to hide what they have taken.

Anyone who has information on where the two can be found is asked to contact the police. Tipsters can call the emergency police line at 412-833-2000 or can call the anonymous tip line at 412-851-2773.
