Man accused of causing 2 hit-and-run crashes, committing a carjacking in Beaver County

GREENE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man is accused of committing a carjacking after a hit-and-run crash in Beaver County.

Pennsylvania State Police say Jon Cardona Michael, 31, of Baden, crashed a truck at the intersection of State Route 168 and State Route 30 in Greene Township at 3:59 p.m. on Wednesday and then fled the scene.

Investigators say Michael walked along Route 168 where he came into contact with a Jeep Gladiator sitting at a red light. Troopers say he opened the door and pulled the driver from the vehicle before getting in and driving off.

The Jeep was found crashed at the intersection of Red Dog Road and Little Blue Road.

Police say Michael fled the scene, too, but he was eventually arrested and taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained in the second crash.

He faces several felony robbery charges, theft by unlawful taking, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicles or property and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
