ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man who pleaded guilty to hitting a co-worker with his truck and pinning him against another vehicle has received his sentence.
Ervin Lopez-Ramirez, 40, of Indiana, was sentenced to not less than three years and no more than six years in a state correctional facility, District Attorney Robert F. Manzi Jr. announced on Friday.
Lopez-Ramirez will also pay costs, a fine and restitution.
Pennsylvania State Police were called to Armstrong Township on April 3 for reports of a man hit by a vehicle.
Troopers say a dispute broke out between Lopez-Ramirez, who was heavily intoxicated at the time, and a colleague. Lopez-Ramirez got into his truck, hit the victim with it, and pinned him against a nearby farm truck. Both vehicles were pushed into the side of a building, causing substantial damage.
“This defendant took a disagreement with a co-worker and chose to commit a violent act, instead of dealing with the situation in an adultlike, appropriate manner,” said Manzi. “He placed the victim’s life in danger without any legal provocation and will spend the next few years in state prison for his actions.”
Lopez-Ramirez pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on Oct. 30.
