Meyer, Unkovic & Scott partner takes helm of Financial Industries Network

PITTSBURGH — A partner of downtown law firm Meyer, Unkovic & Scott is the new president of the Financial Industries Network, a professional organization serving Pittsburgh’s financial services and business communities with roots going back more than 100 years.

Derek Markle was tapped for the role after serving as FIN’s vice president. He joined Meyer, Unkovic & Scott in early 2022, serving in its Real Estate & Lending Group, and was promoted to partner in January 2026.

FIN’s roots trace back to the Bankers Exchange Bureau, founded in the early 1900s to provide a consumer reporting exchange among banks in western Pennsylvania. It now brings together professionals from financial institutions, law and accounting firms, insurance companies, real estate organizations and other businesses serving the financial industry. Through educational programs, professional forums and networking events, FIN provides opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, develop industry relationships and engage with clients, colleagues and other leaders throughout the Pittsburgh region.
