Mike Tomlin excited for first regular-season NFL game as NBC Sports analyst

When Steelers fans turn on the TV and flip the channel to NBC to watch the start of the NFL season, they’ll see a familiar face in a new place.

That’s because former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is making his regular-season debut as part of the NBC Sports team during the Super Bowl 60 rematch between the Patriots and Seahawks — which you can watch only on Channel 11.

Tomlin spoke on the Today Show on Monday, saying there will be some jitters for him just because of how new this entire process is.

Channel 11 Sports Director Jenna Harner spoke with him on a conference call about his excitement for the season.

“I just have an unbelievable level of excitement,” he said. “Not only about the challenge of sharing my love for the game with fellow football lovers but also... being the new guy. I’ve been really blessed in my football life; I was able to spend 19 years with an absolute blue blood organization, and NBC Football Night in America/Sunday Night Football is and has been the gold standard as far as I’m concerned.”

Tomlin will get to reunite with his former team when the Steelers play the Bengals on Sunday Night Football in Week 10.

He’ll return to Pittsburgh in Week 13, when the Steelers host the Texans.

Both those games can only be seen on Channel 11.
