A military aircraft made an emergency landing at Pittsburgh International Airport on Thursday.
Assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing in Youngstown, the C-130J-30 Super Hercules had four crew members on board, according to Capt. Marjorie Schurr, chief of public affairs for the 911th Airlift Wing.
The aircraft declared an “in-flight emergency” due to smoke in the cockpit and mechanical issues, Schurr said.
It was diverted to PIT because of runway repaving at Youngstown Warren Regional Airport.
The Super Hercules landed around 3:15 p.m. The Allegheny County Airport Fire Department responded, and no injuries were reported, Schurr said.
The aircraft will be towed to the 911th Airlift Wing for repairs.
