MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Hours after a local mother pleaded for the public’s help in finding her missing 21-year-old daughter, the woman was found safe Monday afternoon.
Before Monday, Stephanie Thomas was last seen at her Moon Township home on July 18, her mother said.
Tina Thomas said she heard from her daughter via text message on July 25, saying she was “fine,” but had not heard from her since. Tina Thomas said she doesn’t think her daughter sent her the message.
Police said an off-duty officer recognized Thomas at Taco Bell on Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township Monday afternoon.
The officer, Ian Lucas, called police and authorities confirmed that the woman was Thomas. She didn’t appear to be in any distress.
Authorities thanked local media outlets for their assistance in locating Thomas.
