NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The City of New Castle is dealing with flooding as strong storms pass through the area.
In a social media post Thursday at 5:24 p.m., the city urged people to stay off the roadways and only travel if necessary or in the event of an emergency.
Roads shut down by flooding include:
- Parts of State Street
- Westbound Sampson Street
- Croton Avenue
- Parts of Butler Avenue
Officials say not to drive through flooded roadways.
The sanitation department is currently working to clear the roads and address the flooding.
Additionally, the New Castle Police Department advises that State Street is closed between McClelland Avenue and Bell Avenue due to downed trees and power lines creating a hazard. Drivers are told to use alternate routes.
