SHIPPINGPORT, Pa. — Leaders in Shippingport approved phase two of Aligned Data Center’s land development plan.
Aligned has proposed building a $10 billion data center campus on the former Bruce Mansfield plant.
Even though the project is moving forward, neighbors have concerns.
“I feel they’re popping up everywhere like Dollar General stores. That’s what I feel like. I feel like one town gets one and the next thing you know another town is getting three of them. Everyone has to get one now. Why do we need this many?” Jai-Ellen St. George of Midland said.
The data center project broke ground on phase one of the project earlier this month.
