Nick Herbig reflects on Steelers’ season so far

Nick Herbig (WPXI/WPXI)

PITTSBURGH — The focus for the Steelers early this week is internal.

The team spent Tuesday looking at play through the first four weeks before diving into the prep for Sunday’s game against the Colts.

Nick Herbig was really reflective when Channel 11 spoke with him this morning.

He said there needs to be more effort on defense, especially from himself.

He also noted the need for the group to finish on their plays and make tackles after missing 14 against the Browns.

Channel 11 asked Herbig how much of a benefit it was to have the long weekend to dive into what’s been causing some of the early-season problem areas.

“I think any time you get a chance to get away, kind of step away, refocus, reanalyze, get your body right, most importantly get your mentals right and come back ready to work,” Herbig said.

Jamel Dean was in the locker room Tuesday morning. He was not wearing a boot like he was after the game.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy told us the cornerback is making progress

We’ll learn more about his status when the team takes the field for practice tomorrow.
