Inbound Fort Pitt Tunnel, Fort Pitt Bridge reopens after police activity

PITTSBURGH — The inbound lanes of the Fort Pitt Bridge and Fort Pitt Tunnel were shut down because of police activity Monday morning.

Channel 11 confirmed that police were called around 2:23 a.m. Our crews could see officers blocking the ramp to the Parkway East along the Monongahela River.

We’re working to learn why the tunnel and bridge were blocked off. 911 dispatchers did confirm that it is not a crash.

Check back for updates throughout the day as we work to learn more.
