SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A person was shot and another person was taken into custody after a shooting in Shaler Township.

Allegheny County dispatchers said emergency crews were called to the 1400 block of Mount Royal Boulevard at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday.

Shaler Township Police Chief Sean Frank said a male victim was found at the scene. He was taken to a hospital and was alert and talking with medics when they arrived.

Frank said another male was taken into custody.

The ages of the victim and suspect have not been released at this time.

Shaler Police said there is no threat to the community.

The Allegheny County Police Department has been called to help investigate.
