PITTSBURGH — Pitt athletes will soon promote the university’s dining options.

Pitt Eats, a part of dining group Chartwells Higher Education, is taking advantage of changing rules surrounding student-athlete branding. It will now use student athletes from the University of Pittsburgh to promote its dining services through branded content, with the athletes functioning as brand ambassadors. Chartwells and Pitt first began working with student athletes last academic year, as rules surrounding Name, Image and Likeness have recently changed for student athletes.

“Our NIL partnership with Chartwells Higher Education shows what’s possible when you pair student-athlete brand opportunities with something meaningful to daily campus life,” Pitt Assistant Vice Chancellor for Auxiliary Services Julie Bannister said in a prepared statement. “Together we are fueling performance, promoting wellness and connecting our student-athletes with the broader Pitt community.”
