PITTSBURGH — Pitt has finally made its way into the AP Top 25 college football poll.
The Panthers were listed at No. 25 after going undefeated for the last five weeks. It’s the first time Pitt has been ranked since last November.

Pitt also appeared at No. 24 on the AFCA Coaches Poll this week.
Pitt and Miami are the only undefeated ACC teams after Week 5, though Miami has played one more conference game than Pitt.
Pitt is fourth in the ACC in scoring offense and total offense, third in passing offense and second in touchdown passes. The defense is second in the ACC against the run and third in points allowed.
The road isn’t going to be as easy for Pitt going forward, as starting quarterback Mason Heintschel tore his ACL during Friday night’s 35-33 road win over Virginia Tech. He’s out for the rest of the season.
Pitt is going to be in the spotlight again next weekend, taking on North Carolina in a sold-out, nationally televised home game. Kickoff is set for noon.
The ACC Network’s college football show, ACC Huddle, will be on site for live coverage before the game.
