PITTSBURGH — As NFL Draft preparation continues in Pittsburgh, city officials are implementing a temporary construction moratorium.

The city’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure says the purpose of the moratorium is to ensure public safety, manage traffic and accommodate increased pedestrian traffic.

The moratorium is already in effect and lasts until May 15. It affects Downtown, the North Shore and high-priority corridors and restricts all construction within the Right of Way that requires a DOMI permit.

During this time, only emergency work will be permitted within the moratorium area, though waiver requests can be made.

Any unauthorized construction within the restricted areas could result in permit revocation, fines or other penalties.
