Pittsburgh man, woman in custody for attempted homicide of infant

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man and woman are facing attempted homicide charges after an infant was hospitalized for injuries consistent with shaking last year.

24-year-old Teshawn Ahkir Williams and 25-year-old Tamaya Harris were both charged with endangering the welfare of children, criminal attempted homicide, and aggravated assault.

Pittsburgh Police say that on Nov. 25, 2021, officers responded to a local hospital for an infant with injuries consistent with shaking. The baby was in critical condition, according to police.

Detectives determined that the injuries occurred while the infant was in the care of Williams and Harris.

Williams and Harris turned themselves into police, and are currently in Allegheny County Jail.
