Sarris Candies opens ice cream shop inside Pittsburgh Market District store

PITTSBURGH — People in Pittsburgh no longer have to drive all the way to Canonsburg to get a taste of Sarris Candies ice cream.

On Thursday, Sarris opened up a new Scoop Shop inside the Market District store along Penn Avenue in Shadyside.

“We’ve been serving generations of families in Western Pennsylvania and beyond for more than 65 years, and we’re always looking for new ways to meet our customers where they are,” Sarris Candies President and CEO Bill Sarris said. “Opening inside Market District gives us a great opportunity to do exactly that while introducing even more people to our ice cream.”

The shop offers a variety of ice cream favorites, like cones, sundaes, milkshakes and other grab-and-go treats. Shoppers can enjoy their treat while grabbing groceries, or stop at a nearby seating area.

Ice cream is served daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
