PITTSBURGH — The Steelers are making some changes to their schedule this week.
Monday was a “players’ day off,” and they’ll return Tuesday for what head coach Mike McCarthy told us is going to be a self-scout.
They’ll spend Tuesday focusing internally, before shifting their attention towards the Colts.
When Channel 11 talked with the players in the locker room after Thursday’s loss, the lack of consistency was a theme they continued to bring up.
We asked McCarthy how they find that, without riding the ups and downs that come with the season.
“You have to play your best football each and every week to win this league. Definitely play better than your opponent. So that’s really part of why we’re going about tomorrow the way we’re going about it because we need to clean our own house. Our house is not clean right now,” McCarthy said.
Another injury update we will be keeping a close eye on when the team returns to practice is the status of Deshon Elliott. The safety is eligible to come off IR this week.
McCarthy said he doesn’t have a specific timeline for Elliott, but he is making progress.
