PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after between $150,000 and $200,000 worth of jewelry and designer items was reportedly stolen from the home of Steelers rookie Max Iheanachor.
The burglary happened in broad daylight Aug. 26 at a home on Bradley Street in Pittsburgh’s Duquesne Heights neighborhood, according to investigators.
The two people living at the home told police they left around 10:30 a.m. after locking the doors and closing the garage door.
When they returned around 1:30 p.m., they found the garage door open and a window apparently shattered with a rock.
Channel 11 News saw the window boarded up.
Police said several pieces of jewelry, Rolex watches and designer bags were taken.
The burglary left people living nearby concerned.
“Oh my God, that’s crazy,” Julia Kluge said. “Especially being so close. I live up in this area too, so it’s scary to hear.”
Iheanachor is the latest professional athlete to have his home targeted amid a nationwide wave of burglaries involving NFL and NBA players.
“It’s very sad, to be honest,” Andre Frye said. “We are talking about the eve of the season starting on Sunday. He’s got to deal with that, and it’s unnecessary.”
Lemlem Gamble said the crime was especially surprising because of the number of security cameras and police patrols in the neighborhood.
“You would think someone wouldn’t do something so bold,” Gamble said.
Police have not announced any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Iheanachor was the Steelers’ first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
He recently returned to the field after recovering from an apparent neck and shoulder injury.
