The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted three players for tryouts on Thursday, in addition to defensive back Israel Mukuamu, who they signed: outside linebacker Andre Carter II, outside linebacker Xavier Thomas and safety Donovan Wilson. Wilson was also with Mike McCarthy in Dallas.
Wilson played in Dallas from 2019 to 2025. He played in 98 games, starting 75 across seven seasons. McCarthy recently mentioned that the Steelers are in need of safety depth.
Wilson has experience playing both free and strong safety.
