Students at Chartiers Valley School District collected hundreds of boxes of cereal to donate to a local food drive.

The students’ goal was to collect enough cereal boxes that they could use to create a domino chain that went the length of their primary school.

They were able to collect more than 1,200 boxes when the drive wrapped up on Friday.

Before sending the cereal to the Bridgeville Food Bank, the kids set their cereal boxes up and knocked them down like dominos.

The custodians at the school brought more than 70 boxes as part of the drive and one second grader spent $100 that he said he had been saving for something special.
