PITTSBURGH — A bicyclist participating in Pedal PGH was injured by a person driving a vehicle, who then fled the scene.
Allegheny County dispatchers said police and medics were called to the 4000 block of Beechwood Blvd in Greenfield at 11:06 a.m. on Sunday for reports of a hit-and-run.
A Pittsburgh Police public information officer tells Channel 11 a man riding a bike and participating in Pedal PGH was struck by a vehicle in that area.
Witnesses told officers the vehicle was a white SUV, which fled the scene.
The bicyclist sustained minor injuries, mostly scrapes and bruises, and was treated by medics at the scene.
Detectives are working to gather a description of the driver and will attempt to find them.
