ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The annual Westmoreland County “Labor United Celebration” brought workers together over the weekend.
The event was held in Northmoreland Park in Allegheny Township on Sunday and Monday.
It celebrates the proud tradition of union labor in Western Pennsylvania.
It also gives a chance for local organizations like volunteer fire departments to raise some much-needed funds
“We rely a lot on donations and these grassroots fundraisers; they keep the trucks going to buy equipment just to maintain our operations,” Matt Johnston with the Markle Volunteer Fire Department said.
Admission was free and featured exotic animals, arts and crafts, games, a flea market and various musical performances.
