PITTSBURGH — One person died and two others were taken to a hospital after a cement truck was involved in a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning in Pittsburgh’s South Side, officials said.
The crash, which involved a minivan, the cement truck and a parked car, happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the area of South 18th and Crosman streets.
The van and truck collided head on. The van then struck the unoccupied car that was parked along the street.
Police said a passenger in the van was killed. Paramedics pulled the driver of the van out of the vehicle and took him to a hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the truck was also taken to a hospital after getting out on his own, police said.
South 18th Street is closed in both directions.
