Officials condemned three homes along Bramble Street in Penn Hills on Friday morning after a massive landslide.

Fire Marshal Chuck Miller said the mud and trees came crashing down around 9:30 a.m.
“I was making arrangements to get those trees cut down, but I didn’t think it would be this bad. It is," said resident Angela Kemper.
She said she was inside her home when she heard a loud noise outside.
“It’s just scary. It sounded like thunder the way it came down,” Kemper said. “It’s all on my back porch and it destroyed my shed in the back.”
The Red Cross was called in to assist four residents from two of the homes and Miller said officials were still trying to get in touch with the occupants of the third home. All utilities were disconnected and orange “condemned” signs were placed on the windows.

“We had to condemn all of the homes because this just isn’t safe,” Miller said. “It’s an active situation. We can still hear trees falling and snapping and if we continue to get more rain, this could change everything.”
No one was injured, he said.
“You can’t control Mother Nature,” Kemper said.
