The entire space stretches across 1.3 miles of riverfront.

During a special virtual meeting, they shared a vision which mixes old industrial space with new docks and water activities.

In addition, there are talks of adding kayak and canoe launches, a walkway and embracing nature through a “Wilds Adventure Trail” for walkers, runners and cyclists.

Developers say they want this project to welcome the public.

People who frequent the area say they’re feeling cautiously optimistic and hope everyone is included.

“It’s beautiful down here! It’s nice. It’s needed. But it’s needed for the people that live here already. Do ya understand? Like it’ll bring more people,” said Hazelwood resident Jacquin Fields.

Developers are working to secure funding for the project.
