MCKEESPORT, Pa. — The Duquesne-McKeesport Bridge has reopened Thursday morning after being hit by a runaway barge.
It happened just after midnight when the barges broke free from a tow boat on the Monongahela River. Crews said one of the bridge piers had minor damage.

The bridge was closed to traffic while it was inspected by engineers from PennDOT.
The U.S. Coast Guard said there is a two mile closure on the Monongahela River from river mile 13 to 15 to ensure the safety of people on the river.
