Flooding leads to Indiana Co. man's death, train cars knocked off tracks

A Shelocta man was killed Thursday evening because of flash flooding in Indiana County.

A captain with the Tunnelton Fire Department confirms the victim, who was in his early 30s, went to unclog a pond on Sportsmans Club Road and got sucked into the pipe.

The accident happened near the Indiana-Armstrong County line.

Water around the area is receding.

So far, no other injuries have been reported.

Fracking tank trailers appeared to be knocked off the tracks after intense rain caused flooding in Armstrong Township.

Chopper 11 flew over the scene of flooding in the township, where multiple vehicles were spotted underwater on Route 422.

Flooding was also spotted on Haggerty Lane.

A part of Main Street in Shelocta was turned into a river. One homeowner said there is almost two feet of standing water.

He's now pumping out his basement, but that's not his biggest concern.

"I'll be honest with you, if we get the storms that they're calling for, where do you put all this water? " asked Frank Olma.

His fear is about the storms that are expected to roll through Friday morning.
