Hampton ranked top high school in Pittsburgh area, top 10 in state by U.S. News & World Report

PITTSBURGH — Hampton has been ranked the top high school in the Pittsburgh area, and also one of the Top 10 schools in the state, by U.S. News & World Report.

Compared to 142 high schools in the Pittsburgh area, Hampton landed in first place on the list, according to the report. Out of 754 high schools in the state, Hampton High School ranked No. 7 overall.

Nationwide, Hampton came in at 408 out of nearly 18,000 high schools.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the schools are rated on six factors based on their performance on state assessments, and by how well they prepare students for college.
