Here are positive things happening in our community (4/17/20)

PITTSBURGH — We know that the coronavirus pandemic is an overwhelming and stressful time for everybody, so we’re going to put together some positive things that are happening within our community to help those in need.

It’s apparent that during hard times, the Pittsburgh region always comes together to help one another.

Company 3D printing, donating PPE

AP Visuals, a Pittsburgh-area company, is operating three 3D printers around the clock to make NIH approved PPE for healthcare workers, first responders and anyone who requests it. So far, the company had donated over 100 items!

Local man uses app to deliver free lunches

Erie Frye, the found of SecureTheKid, is using VendSpin, a new mobile vendor app, to help deliver free lunches to kids during the pandemic.

Greensburg Police thank 8th grade students for face shields

A group of 8th grade students at Greensburg Salem donated custom face shields to every officer at the City of Greensburg Police Department.

“While they may only be in 8th grade, I think we can all agree that they have a bright future ahead of them.”

First responders thank St. Clair Hospital workers during shift change

Firefighters, police officers and EMS workers gathered outside St. Clair Hospital to thank and lift the spirits of healthcare workers.

The first responders gave a round of applause and held a banner that said, “Thank you,” during a shift change at the hospital.

“We’re beyond grateful for all of their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 health pandemic. Thank you for being amazing partners in this time of need,” St. Clair Hospital posted on Facebook, along with a video of the kind gesture.

Thank you to our public safety partners

A very heartfelt thank you to our local public safety officials. Our fire, police and EMS partners were onsite today at St. Clair Hospital, helping to raise the spirits of our staff during a shift change. We’re beyond grateful for all of their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 health pandemic. Thank you for being amazing partners in this time of need.
