Meeting at Robinson motel ends in deadly shooting, police say

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police have made an arrest after a 48-year-old man was found dead in the parking lot of a motel in Robinson Township Friday morning.

Around 11:22 a.m., county 911 was called about a shooting at the Pittsburgh Motel on Steubenville Pike. First responders found the man dead when they arrived at the scene.

Police said the victim -- identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office as Christopher Langham, 48 --went to the motel to meet someone. He was invited into the room and was there for a few seconds before Jaquay Murray, 25, exited the bathroom and pointed a handgun at the victim.

According to a release, Murray shot the victim as he tried to run out of the room. Officers found Murray near the motel and took him into custody.

Murray is facing criminal homicide and firearm charges, and he’s currently being held in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
