Man dead after triple shooting during fight in Mount Oliver

MOUNT OLIVER, Pa. — A triple shooting during a fight left one person dead early Wednesday morning in Mount Oliver, police said.

Allegheny County 911 was alerted to the shooting on Brownsville Road shortly after 12 a.m.

When first responders got to the scene, they found a 29-year-old man dead and two other men shot in the legs, police said. The surviving victims, ages 27 and 28, were taken to a hospital, where one was listed in critical condition and the other in stable condition.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased victim as Robert P. Johnson, 29, of Pittsburgh.

Investigators said the gun fire erupted during a fight between two groups of people.

“The victims were involved in a verbal confrontation when gunfire erupted between both groups,” Allegheny County Police Sgt. Venerando Costa said.

The back window of a car at the scene appeared to have been shot out.

Right now police say they are piecing together surveillance video and will likely have a description of the suspects soon. Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-255-8477.
