Man with gun robs Pittsburgh store

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh store was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

The robbery occurred at the Family Dollar store in the 1200 block of Chartiers Avenue around 10 p.m., police said.

Employees reported that a man wearing a mask came up to the counter, showed a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before running off toward a wooded area. No one was injured.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with an athletic build, wearing all-black clothing and carrying a Puma backpack.

Police continue to investigate.
