Monroeville volunteer firefighter assaulted, sent inappropriate messages to 14-year-old girl, police say

MONROEVILLE, Pa. — A Monroeville volunteer firefighter and emergency dispatcher turned himself into Allegheny County Police on Thursday for allegedly assaulting and sending inappropriate messages to a 14-year-old girl.

The victim reported Gregory Lauffer, 23, to police on March 12.

Through the investigation, Monroeville police determined that Lauffer was attending an event at the Monroeville Fire Training Academy on March 8 when he is accused of sending inappropriate texts, made inappropriate sexual comments and indecently assaulted the alleged victim.

Lauffer is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor and indecent assault.
