Parents, students protest outside Pine-Richland board meeting

GIBSONIA, Pa. — School board members were booed and escorted by police into the Pine-Richland administration building for Monday night’s school board meeting while nearly 200 angry parents and students protested outside.

The fallout continues nearly three weeks after Pine-Richland fired head football coach Eric Kasperowicz and his entire coaching staff amid hazing and bullying allegations.

The school board and administration said they’ve made it clear that a thorough investigation revealed years of hazing and bullying within the football program.

However, the former coach and student-athletes said that simply couldn’t be further from the truth.

Kasperowicz won four WPIAL titles, two state championships and put the school district in the national spotlight for its success on the football field.

Dozens of families called in to voice their opinions to the school board.

Although the board acknowledged the frustration and anger, they stood by their decision to remove the entire coaching staff.
