New Castle police searching for homicide suspect after deadly weekend shooting

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — New Castle police are searching for a man wanted for a deadly weekend shooting.

Police said just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, police were dispatched to a New Castle hospital for a reported gunshot victim who was brought in. The victim, later identified as Devon Thompson, died from his injuries.

Investigators learned the shooting happened at 413 Leasure Ave. on the second floor of a building.

As a result of their investigation, police are now looking for Daniel Lee Tweedlie, 18, from New Brighton. He’s wanted on charges of criminal homicide among other charges.

Police described Tweedlie as five feet, five inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and having brown hair and hazel eyes.
